04G Dash Takes Poppy Jasper

March 24, 2016

Two years in a row now Dash has now come home from the Poppy Jasper tournament with Championship hardware. This year Dash had the mindset to use this tournament as a tune up for their season; get new players in the right positions and find out what the team needs to work going forward. All the while; Dash still intended to bring home hardware. This year is a new challenge for the team, who is now playing on the larger fields with the much larger goals.

The weekend started a with a 3-1 win over Orchard Valley early on Saturday. This was followed up by an encounter with a much improved Palo Alto, who Dash has seen before, but not at this level. The game was back and forth with Dash going down early but fighting back late to take the 2-1 win into Sunday.

Sunday morning, Dash was matched up against San Francisco FC, who Dash quickly dispatched 3-1. The win against San Francisco put Dash back into the championship game. Unfortunately for Dash, the game would be against their toughest opponent of the weekend, Palo Alto, who the girls played the day before. This game however would go much different than their previous encounter with Dash coming out of the gates quickly and scoring very early on setting the page. Dash would score twice more winning 3-1 and for the second year in a row taking home the championship trophy.
